Served as design engineer and task manager for projects in FDOT Districts 1 and 7, as well as several municipalities within Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Hernando Counties. Responsibilities included drainage design, stormwater management facility design, stormwater permitting, drainage investigations and report writing, design documentation assembly, roadway geometric design, maintenance of traffic, utility coordination, quantity takeoffs and cost estimation, review of shop drawings, field reviews, coordinating with clients, and responding to comments. Gained in-depth knowledge of stormwater management facility design and permitting, while maintaining roadway design skills and computer aided drafting proficiency.

Served as internal project manager for projects in several municipalities including Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Escambia Counties and provided support for numerous FDOT projects. Responsibilities included all those required of a project manager and designer, including, but not limited to, all aspects of roadway geometric and drainage system design, maintenance of traffic, quantity takeoffs and cost estimation, development of design criteria, pavement design and typical section packages, project scheduling, utility coordination, coordination with clients and sub-consultants, billing and progress reports, writing route studies and attending public meetings, review of shop drawings, field reviews, and assisting with proposals. Honed and maintained previously acquired skills, and learned new skills that are crucial to efficiently producing a quality product that is both on time and under budget.

Assisted on numerous FDOT and county highway projects where I acquired and utilized such skills as drafting, quantities, cost estimation, Q.A./Q.C., and plans assembly. Attended training in Microstation, Geopak, FDOT LRE, FDOT PPR, and Pavement Design. Became familiar with and practiced FDOT Design Standards and the use of the Plans Production Manuals. Became familiar with AASHTO standards and their various applications. Assisted with numerous other tasks related to project proposals and submittals.

Created and streamlined hurricane damage assessment maps using Arc GIS software. Collected and organized data to be used for informational websites addressing topics such as flood insurance, prevention of erosion, and local waterways. Assisted in the creation of an all-inclusive, accessible database of site plan and subdivision records. Improved existing underdrain calculations program to include flow rates. Performed various field tasks including pipe measurement, photography, cross sections, and erosion damage assessment.
