Veterinary services are available in the Los Angeles area, as well as Datil, NM, Albuquerque, NM Santa Fe, NM.. Dr Travers is certified in veterinary chiropractic, veterinary acupuncture and veterinary osteopathy. He has practiced for over 30 years, has a DVM, BS in agriculture and two years graduate training in physiology at University of Missouri-Columbia. He has been a professional farrier since 1969 and taught farrier science at UMC veterinary college for 5 years. He has done pioneering work in commercial embryo transfer on some of the top performance horses of several breeds during the 1980s - 90s. He was a resident veterinarian at Walmac Intl, Ford Arabians and the Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches where he bred and raised hundreds of horses per year. Dr Travers has done performance medicine on elite performance horses of many disciplines for over the last 30 years.The last 15 years his interest has centered on performance enhancement using physical medical technologies on performance horses throughout the southwestern United States. He owns and operates a 110,000 acre cattle ranch in western New Mexico where he combines ranching with postural and rehabilitative studies on a feral horse herd as well as anatomical and therapeutic studies on performance horses. His practice includes conventional medicine as well as a functional neurological approach to lameness, fitness and neuromuscular coordination of performance horses. Dr Travers is a FEI Permitted Treating Veterinarian.
