As the UN Resident Coordinator in Comoros, I represent and lead the United Nations Development System in the country, working closely with the government, the United Nations Country Team, civil society, and other partners to advance the 2030 Agenda and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. I have nearly 30 years of experience in humanitarian and development contexts in Africa, with specialist knowledge of Humanitarian Affairs, International Humanitarian Law, and Human Rights as well as for profit business development experience.In my previous roles, I oversaw the Civil Affairs Section in the UN Stabilisation Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Relief and the Reintegration and Protection Section in the UN Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan, where I managed large and diverse teams, developed and implemented strategic plans, and advocated for the protection of civilians, human rights, and peacebuilding. I previously worked with the leading international non-governmental organisations Medecins Sans Frontieres, Oxfam and CARE. I am passionate about promoting the fundamental values, standards, and principles of the UN and empowering the people and communities I serve. I have a particular passion for the development of Africa. I have a Bachelor of Laws degree and a European Masters in Human Rights and Democratisation. I am fluent in my mother tongue Berom, as well as English, French, and Hausa and conversant with several other African languages.
