Financial reporting - James is responsible for the preparation and review of Financial Statements and monthly management accounts and ensuring that they are compliant with IFRS and Companies Act for NICO Asset Managers and all Companies and Pension Funds under our Management.Taxation management - James ensures that NICO Asset Managers and all funds under its management are in compliance with all provision of the Taxation Act, VAT Act including but not limited to submission of tax returns and liaising with external taxation advisory firms.Working capital management - James ensures that all outstanding debts are collected in time and is responsible for monitoring of cash flow and forecasts for NICO Asset Managers and all companies under its management.Treasury management - James ensures that all excess cash is invested and that they are accounted for in line with the requisites of the applicable IFRSs. He is also responsible for reviewing performance of the various investments.Internal controls - James ensures that there is a vibrant internal control environment at NICO Asset Managers and works hand in hand with Executive Management to ensure that risks faced by the company and various funds under management are mitigated.Human resource management - James is involved in the recruitment, appraisals and management of staff as well as the general administration of NICO Asset Managers.Company secretary - James is the Company Secretary National Investment Trust plc as well as for some companies under NICO Asset Management. This means that he is responsible for the organization of Board meetings and AGM’s for all these funds. Thus he is involved in producing Board papers and Board packs, arranging and attending quarterly Board meetings as well as annual AGM’s, and following up on issues that come from these Board meetings.
