Under our consumer-facing brand, Beforepay, we have used these products and their predecessors to issue more than 4 million loans in Australia on our own balance sheet. Carrington Labs is the artificial-intelligence and enterprise-software division of Beforepay Group.

Beforepay Group has two business lines. Carrington Labs is our global B2B business, which builds artificial-intelligence tools for loan decisioning and loan management for banks and other lenders. We use those same tools and platform in our Australian B2C business, Beforepay, where we offer an ethical, customer-friendly alternative to predatory lending and revolving debt. Our flagship product, a short-term pay advance, is designed to be cheaper and safer than alternatives such as credit cards or payday loans. We have originated more than 4 million loans to date.

In particular, I:- Worked closely with the Board, CEO, and leadership team to agree our strategy and priorities- Helped the organisation use those priorities to set plans, metrics, targets, and milestones, and track progress- Led the annual Board planning process- Worked with my team to form sharp points of view on current and future changes to the financial-services industry, including the rise of data and digital, the competitive implications of fintech and Big Tech, and changing customer expectations, and appropriate strategic responses to those changes

More specifically, I:- Managed a team of 550 people, including technologists, analysts, and data scientists, among others- Built our approach to improving data quality, including defining critical data elements, assigning them to accountable owners, developing and implementing our approach to measuring data quality across multiple dimensions for each data domain, and building and executing our plan to improve data quality- Developed and led initiatives to use data across the group to improve the customer experience, improve effectiveness and efficiency, and improve our capability- Led our Open Banking program, and other large-scale data transformation programs

- Ran the United States, Canada, and Latin America division of a global asset manager with $150 billion under management (known at the time as First State Investments; now First Sentier Investors)- Completed a greenfield build of the Americas division, securing licenses to operate, building a distribution capability, opening two offices, hiring two fixed-income teams, building relationships with investors, and putting in place IT, operational and compliance infrastructure. Led M&A efforts.- Grew the division to $8 billion in assets
