    Jim is a financial advisor in Savant’s Wilmette, IL, office and a member of the Advisory Team. He is responsible for managing all aspects of the financial planning and investment process for Savant’s clients. He regularly meets with clients, other advisors, portfolio managers, and financial planners to formulate and coordinate effective planning, investment, and tax strategies. Jim has been involved in the financial services industry since 1977. He was an independent floor trader on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and a published research analyst and media spokesman for a large brokerage firm, developing trading strategies for clients in the S&P 500 Stock Index Futures and Options Markets as well as other futures products. He managed floor operations on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and filled orders on both the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board Options Exchange for a major wirehouse. He served as president and founder of Orion Capital Management from 1991 until its acquisition by Savant in 2015. Jim earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Wake Forest University. He was a member of the first TD Ameritrade advisory panel and is a founding member of the National Independent Financial Advisor Panel (NIFAP) study group. Jim and his wife Julia have a daughter, Julia, in Alexandria, VA, and a son, Jim Jr., who works with him at Savant. Jim was in active duty in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1975, where he served as an officer and aircrew navigator. He enjoys spending time with family, reading, and traveling.
