Responsible for study coordination, including study start-up, patient recruitment, backup support. Serve as the primary contact to ensure appropriate communications, trial management, and meeting of timelines. Coordinating the operational aspects of new and on-going clinical trials. Work under the supervision of the Principle Investigator in patient monitoring and care. Maintain daily contact with the Principle Investigator(s) for recruitment activities, study start up, and general daily communication. Responsible for the execution of the protocol and ensuring that all staff working on any given protocol have been properly delegated by the Principal Investigator and adequately trained on the protocol and added to the study by the IRB. Patient recruitment and pre-screening. Maintain and submit IRB communications and regulatory documents. Prepare other study materials as requested by the Principal Investigator such as informed consent documents, case report forms, enrolment logs and drug/device accountability.

Responsible for managing several clinical trial/research studies among the department of vascular surgery. Working with sponsor-initiated studies on protocol compliance. Also working with IRB to ensure validity of ongoing studies and accompanying documents pertaining to research subjects. Screen surgical clinics for eligible enrollees, as well as obtaining consent to participate in studies. Attend surgical study cases ensuring device placement is being properly accounted for.

Assigned the title of a medical record abstractor. In this role I was responsible for pulling medical information of patients with stage IV lung cancer and entering it into research databases. In addition to abstracting medical records I was often assigned researching medical journal databases to find smoking prevalence after lung cancer diagnosis and the effects on quality of life. As far as the research studies I was responsible for specimen collection conducted from research subjects. Blood urine and various tobacco products would be collected, processed accordingly, and stored for further testing/research.

As a patient care associate I was part of the nursing team. Many tasks were involved with this position such as assisting hospitalized patients with activities of daily living, blood draws, EKG's, monitoring heart rhythms, and helping patients establish wellness to get back to society. This was a team effort where many different titles worked together to ensure adequate oncologic related care and the patient is comfortable while hospitalized receiving medical treatment. During my time I was blessed to work with so many great: physicians, nurses, physical/respiratory and many other therapist, who helped me develop a large portion of the knowledge I am able to use today.
