James Wright is a true entrepreneur who has built his career and his company with a strong sense of purpose, vision and drive. His belief in hiring for talent, developing people, forging relationships and nurturing partnerships has enabled him to add value to companies and people. His career in medical devices spans 26 years across multiple disciplines. Whilst the bulk of his expertise lay with Ophthalmic medical devices, he has experience in a plethora of disciplines such as General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Gastroenterology, Aesthetics medicine, Gynaecology and Cardio Thoracic. He has led many successful teams in building businesses and taken several of these to market leadership positions. Most of his career was built in a corporate environment employed by organisations such as Alcon, Boston Scientific & Stryker. Whilst the experience he gained here is invaluable he always found his entrepreneurial spirit–and ability to meet customer demands in an agile and innovative way–restricted in the corporate environment. Ultimately Envision Africa has been a life-long endeavour for James, and this was realized when he founded the company in 2014.Since its inception, Envision Africa has grown in capacity and capability and can boast an experienced and dynamic team dedicated to delivering Ophthalmic products, services and solutions. They completed their new offices during 2019; this new building houses the office, warehouse, technical department and production facility under one roof ensuring excellent service delivery. As a surgical ophthalmic distributor, it is the vision of Envision Africa to enable the best surgical outcomes in Cataract, Retina and Glaucoma surgery by providing best in class products and service to all the relevant stakeholders.
