Growing up I always loved talking with and meeting new people. I moved a lot, and was the new kid often, but not being afraid to stand out or speak my mind helped me adapt quickly and and easily make friends. This upbringing helped me in my time in the Marine Corps, and in my post military professional life in the Telecommunications industry.I started fresh as a “green” tower hand and quickly recognized who were the outstanding workers. I attached myself to these people, building close trusting relationships and learned as much as I could. This fast track to the industry knowledge lead me to be a Tower Foreman under two years. In a total of four years I worked hard with my hands, outside in the elements, at heights, in all seasons. Eventually I impressed the right people, and with a little bit of luck, found myself transitioning into my own fancy “white collar” gig.In my current position as a Sr. Closeout Specialist, I get to use the skills I gained in my youth when it comes to meeting new people/teams to gain trust and build relationships. The knowledge I gained from working hands on, in the field, has been instrumental in creating the best Closeout Packages I can for our customers, as well as assisting internal teams do their best work. Some people might think looking at hundreds of photos and documents would be boring as could be. For me, I love to see the work, from start to finish. And more than anything, I love to talk to the field crews working out there in elements, to let them know I’ve been there, I’m on their team and I’m here to help them.
