Officer James Willis began his career in Law Enforcement with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) in 2002, were he became a Detention Sergeant. In 2007, he obtained his Peace Officer certification and in 2014 became a police officer for the City of Frisco, currently assigned as a department Public Information Officer/Community Services Officer.Since his employment with the Sheriff’s Office and City of Frisco, Officer Willis has been a Field Training Officer, Basic Instructor, Instructor for De-Escalation Training, Cultural Diversity Instructor, and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Officer Willis is a member of the Frisco Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT) for 5 years, 2 of which he has been acting Assistant Team Leader. Officer Willis helps coordinate all training done by the Frisco CNT as well as helps other agencies with their training needs. Officer Willis has responded to numerous critical incidents ranging from hostage situation, lone suicidal subjects and, armed barricaded individuals.Officer Willis has been a judge for the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators Competition held at Texas State University. Officer Willis currently resides in the North Texas area with his wife and children.
