Provides design engineering, cost estimates and project management activities for overhead and underground, transmission, sub-transmission and distribution systems. Working with customers, and other internal organizations to determine technical requirements regarding the design of new projects to create electrical designs and estimate for transmission lines/facilities; Involved in infrastructure replacement programs, including, among others, deteriorated poles, capital on-ramp, transmission line rating remediation (TLRR), cable replacement and switch replacement; Prepares work order documents, preparing and reviewing work order drawings, and completing final work order packages; orders materials and identifies expected construction labor and timeframes; Acquires permits and easements, and coordinating required project components. Determines the scope of work, method of service, and construction methods for overhead and underground facilities. Prioritizes and schedules all design. Provides coordination and planning of major projects with other departments and/or outside organizations in order to establish and meet scheduled operating dates; Applies for necessary permits, FAA approval and submits environmental reviews to prepare project for eventual construction; Assists other team members with technical issues; acts as a team leader in coordinating efforts of contract planners, engineers, customers, and all other internal sources for the purpose of creating a high quality electrical design in a timely manner. Supports system emergencies as they arise. Acts as 24-hour “On Call” duty supervisor for the assigned work base.

Job responsibilities include selection and siting electrical transmission lines and substations, estimating construction steps and durations, creation of schedules, creation of construction plans, forecasting of equipment and labor required for the project, resource loading, defining the areas of disturbance for construction activities, the selection of marshaling yards, writing and editing Proponents of Environmental Assessments (PEA), responding California Public Utilities Commission data requests, reviewing Environmental Impact Reports (EIR)/Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), review and editing Plan of Development (POD) and responding to BLM inquiries, and participating in project open houses to inform the public of the projects.

Worked in the Transmission Civil Engineering department. Team lead for design and had responsibility for civil design project. Duties included the management of employees, and contractors, grading plans for roads and substations, spill prevention control and counter measure plans (SPCC), parking lot design, storm water design, water pipe design, grading permits, bid evaluations and recommendations.

Road and Right of Way Supervisor. Responsibilities included road maintenance and repair which included preparing job packages, estimates, job walks, bid evaluations, inspection, schedules, and close out. Reviewed license agreements. Reviewed consents, grant outs and other third party requested interested in utilizing the utility corridors. Planning, directing, and inspected transmisison road maintenance activities in Orange County.

Accomplished a multitude of automated AutoCAD programs using AutoLISP and VBA used for Survey calculations and mapping processes.
