Manager of Transversals Engineering aspects in the Royal Navy's Type 31 General Purpose Frigate programme, supporting a team of experts in a variety of fields that include, but not limited to, Security (both information and physical), Materials (compliance against legislation, fire testing etc.) and Human Factors.System Manager / Delegated Design Authority for:- Navigation / Bridge design.- Operability; ranging from driving the store ship solution to working on the development of the tactics, techniques and procedures to defeat threats including surface swarm attack, air attack and underwater threats.- Damage Control & Recoverability solution, including layouts of Damage Control nodes.- Complement Solution (/ crewing); Authority for the complement solution, to deliver a relatively lean Ship's Company able to carry out the roles and evolutions of the Type 31 Frigate in all threat environments.- Future Adaptability; Authority for the Type 31 Frigate future capability solution, designing the facilities to insert additional capabilities into the platform when in-service at lower risk, including equipment such as the 32-cell Strike Length VLS and 5" (127mm) Medium Calibre Gun and Automated Ammunition Handling System.Formerly a Warfare Officer in the Royal Navy.
