Manage a 12-person unit that is responsible for $5.4 billion in federal grants to state governments, local governments, and nonprofit organizations. Responsible for all managerial duties, including hiring, promotions, and resolution of issues. Work closely with 10 states in the upper Midwest to ensure good outcomes in grant programs and responsible spending of federal dollars. Enforce regulatory compliance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act across the region via monitoring reviews, technical assistance, and official reporting. Work with high-level regional and national federal officials on a regular basis to create guidance, develop policy, and streamline internal processes. Communicate directly with cabinet-level officials in state governments in a partnership-based effort to continuously improve the workforce development system.
