I am a Director in KPMG's Integration and Separation team, based in London. Our market-leading team of around 150 Deal Advisors help clients to plan and execute complex carve-outs and integration projects, with a focus on protecting and enhancing value during the transaction.I tend to work with Energy (Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Utilities) and Industrial Manufacturing clients, both Corporates and Private Equity. However I work across sectors and also have experience in Consumer/Retail and Aerospace/Defence.I lead large combined client/consultant teams helping clients to understand and manage the financial, operational and practical implications of major transactions. I work with client Executive Teams providing hands-on support all the way through the change, from pre-deal value identification, to detailed separation/integration planning, through to execution following deal completion, with a particular focus on heavy asset operations. For example:- leading on the carve-out of three shared manufacturing sites for a large chemicals company- redesigning the operating model for the hydrocarbon supply chain team of a National Oil Company transitioning to a new commercial joint venture- helping a major UK utility, over several years, to restructure its back office functions, improving service levels and reducing costs- then going on to help the same client analyse and mitigate stranded costs following a major divestment- development of a new operating model for the West African business of a super-major- development of operational improvement opportunities for an Australian refinery- identification of strategic procurement opportunities for a Norwegian upstream operator- implementation of an inventory management system for a Siberian upstream JV- oversight of several large-scale change programmes across multiple North Sea platforms and onshore operations, to increase production and reduce cost.I regularly contribute to thought leadership, having written papers on operating models in upstream oil and gas, and decommissioning strategy.
