Rainbow is a startup renewable energy business initially focused on becoming the UK’s largest solar installation business with ambitions to build smart technology for aggregating energy assets behind the meter.Recruited by CEO, Andrew Mullinger (co-founder of unicorn FinTech business Funding Circle). Brought into the exec team to establish the future technology vision and strategy for the business. This vision was broad and far-reaching across marketing + lead generation, solar + battery design, sales + quotations, hardware design + OEM partnerships, installation + logistics, smart home energy management, virtual power plants (VPP), and energy trading.Whilst establishing future vision, designed and implemented a web app that provides customers with a digital journey from quote, through installation, and into after-care. Using Hubspot as the central source of truth Lots of hands on coding and close collaboration with external design agency (Studio Graphene).

TimeToGive is an entirely free open source app and platform that connects people, with even the smallest amount of free time, to small volunteering tasks that make a big difference in their local community.Built on React Native and automated build and release pipelines using Expo. Also undertook small contracting projects during this period.

Online B2C holiday company aiming to capitalise and solve the challenges of family travel using proprietary data and machine learning.Role : Brought in by CEO to deliver a completely new product experience for tripabrood.com. This involved a wholesale replacement of the technology stack, product experience, engineering team and software development processes. 2.5 years of product development was replaced in the first 3.5 months of being on board.By working collaboratively with the product management team, we successfully delivered a new and differentiated product to market - fast highly personalised family-specific holiday search + intelligent recommendation engine (replacing a frustrating chatbot experience).
