Under the title of Senior Project Engineer, I acted as a Project Manager directly under the Senior Project Manager. With my team of a project engineer and site supervisor we managed the BHQ JV, responsible for 4 separate contracts valued at 20mil+. The works included value engineering, design works, environmental studies, and onsite investigations (geotechnical, surveys, utilities, environment) to reduce project costs, risk, and support Primary Approvals (EIS). Earlier in the position of Senior Project Engineer in 2021 I was involved in leading scoping of precontract documents with the main contractor, tender management and developing contractual arrangements between ARTC, TMR and Local councils.

As a Project Engineer on the Kagaru to Acacia Ridge and Bromelton Project, along with my Project Manager and Design Manager, I was responsible for managing our design contractor for the production reference design, onsite investigations, studies, and Primary Approvals (EIS). The program includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing dual gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard dual links comprising of track lowerings, new crossing loops, level crossings and bridges. This included extensive stakeholder engagement with the community at information events and councils (BCC, LCC, SRRC). Works spanned across the QR and ARTC networks.

I was asked to join the Royal Wharf in a short-term capacity to take sole responsibility of planning and preliminary execution of the next stage of a 2-million-pound wharf on the river Thames so the Project Manager could focus on existing issues. I managed the design contractor, schedule, procurement, and constructability of this package of work.

A 1-billion-pound job, the London Bridge Station Redevelopment is the upgrade of the 150-year-old operational station under Network Rail that services over 130,000 passengers per day. I was brought in as a close-out specialist managing the civil and fit out package of the station, managing demolishment, construction works and defect close out simultaneously with a team of four junior engineers. The station was brought back into service on schedule with outstanding works which needed to be resolved between client, designers, architects, and suppliers to overcome scope gaps and design conflicts. Many of these works could only be completed under station closed hours (1am-4am) or station shutdown under a complex permitting system as negotiated with the client.

A 20-billion-dollar green fields project on Curtis Island, Gladstone. This was a rostered fly in, fly out (4:1), role with one other Civil engineer for all onsite drainage, roadways, concrete and earthworks. The roads package was valued at $15 million dollars to be completed by the subcontractor Fulton Hogan. I managed Structural works covering FIFO rotations.

As a completion engineer, I was responsible for punch listing and collation of all records relating to Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument and Civil. Once punch listed, I would own and drive that portion of works ensure timely completion. This was a key activity to ensure commissioning and handover of individual work packages to the client to go into service on schedule. This included the handover and commissioning of the Marine facilities.

Gladstone

The Marine packages of the Gladstone LNG project were valued at over 250 million dollars. I managed the subcontractor John Holland along with my site supervisor. The works included a material offloading facility and the LNG export facility. Significant cross discipline engagement was required to ensure Bechtel direct activities and John Holland activities were coordinated, signing off ITPs, managing non-conformances and the contract management assessing and responding to claims.

As a graduate civil engineer under my lead civil engineer, I engaged in geometric road design, watershed analysis, retaining wall design, soil stabilization studies, road culvert design, airport studies, and various other options studies to produce cost estimates. I was also responsible for the origination and review of engineering deliverables such as scopes of work, design criteria, specifications, hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
