I am a Structural Engineer with over 17 years’ experience gained working on projects in many fields; including industrial, commercial, retail, housing and domestic projects within the UK. My experience includes the production of detailed calculations for many different types of materials. To supplement my design experience, I also have worked for 3 years solely in the drawing office, undertaking drawings for all aspects of the construction trade from; timber drawings, reinforced concrete detailing, steelwork general arrangement and also including 3D models for design and drawing purposes.My main duties are within the design area of the company, however I also have experience of producing AutoCAD drawings, surveying and undertaking site investigations.Currently I have been solely within the steelwork sector of engineering for the last three years where I have gained vital experience in all aspects of the industry from connection design, simple to large portal frames and complex retail structures. As a project engineer I get involved in projects from start to finish; from initial Tender design to early frame design and then detailed design, which follows on with liaising with the drawing office for production of drawings prior to assisting on-site with the construction team. During this internal process I work closely with all members of the design team assisting the main contractor and Architect to implement the required details set out by the Client.
