First Founders was dedicated to shaping and building early stage business ventures emerging from academic and other institutional research entities in the greater Boston area, such as Boston University, Harvard and WPI. Country manager responsible for creating and managing all facets of a new investment banking business in Israel in the midst of deteriorating global financial markets and a challenging business environment. Led coverage effort — focused on technology, communications services, defense electronics, general industrial, chemicals, financial institutions and holding companies — to identify, pursue and originate investment banking opportunities in Israel.Advised CEOs, CFOs and Boards of Directors on evaluating strategic opportunities — financing transactions, restructuring, public to private transactions, divestitures, strategic alliances, joint ventures — during a period of extremely difficult business conditions and limited financing options due to uncertainty in global financial markets. Responsible for all of the firm’s investment banking activity in Israel, including client relationships, business profitability and office operations. Supervised and mentored a team of bankers within the global technology group. Coordinated the delivery of client services by the bank’s capital markets desks, industry specialized bankers, research analysts and private bankers located in Israel, Europe and the US.

Led coverage effort to identify and originate investment banking opportunities in Israel. Coverage included technology, life sciences, telecommunications services and defense electronics companies. Accountable for client relationships, transaction execution and business profitability and operations of the Israel investment banking effort.Led presentations to CEOs, CFOs and Boards of Directors. Assisted clients with setting business objectives, helped them translate those objectives into actionable strategies and helped to execute those strategies. As part of that process created and presented strategic alternatives to clients regarding financing, merger and acquisition opportunities.Structured, negotiated and executed a variety of transactions, including public and private placements of equity and debt securities, mergers, acquisitions, tender offers, takeover defenses, joint ventures, strategic alliances and divestitures. Managed all aspects of transaction execution – prospectus drafting, business and financial due diligence investigations, valuation analyses, merger analyses, fairness opinion materials, and proxy materials.Supervised and mentored a team of bankers, and coordinated the delivery of client services by the bank’s capital markets bankers, industry specialized bankers and research analysts located in Israel, Europe and North America.Built and maintained extensive, long lasting client relations that resulted in executing multiple transactions for 14 different clients. Led the Israel market in transactions completed. CIBC World Markets / Oppenheimer participated in more financing transactions in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 and was the lead manager of more transactions in 1999 and 2000 than any other investment bank in the Israel market.Completed 53 transactions representing an aggregate value of $5.6 Billion. Generated over $55 Million of banking fees in one calendar year.Widely recognized as subject matter expert on the Israel market.
