James Arkell is a Senior Principal Hybrid Powertrain Systems Engineer at Czinger Vehicles. Colleagues describe him as "James's determination to bring younger students into the university allowed many 1st and 2nd year students to be involved in formula student. The development of the car was led by him in the face of much financial constraint and the fact that his workforce has little experience in car design. He would work 6-7 days a week for large parts of the year in order to develop the car. When problems arose he kept a cool head when all around where loosing there’s and presented solutions. He was not afraid to be held accountable for risky decisions which he made with careful but quick analysis of the situation and proved to be correct every time. When due to circumstances that were out of his control the project was unable to continue he instantly turned around and used the project for good.
