The focus of the Venture Crew is to teach leadership to the youth members by having them run their portion of the program. The vehicle for this training is wilderness search and rescue as taught by Maryland Search & Rescue. This co-ed program also enjoys high-adventure outings.

MSAR is a volunteer organization that trains and deploys personnel for wilderness lost-person and downed aircraft searches in the Mid-Atlantic region.

I started working with the directories when I made some suggestions to my, then, Art Director about ways to handle a conversion to a new publication size. It soon became my project and then my job. One of my first tasks was to take production from cut-and-paste to computer-based. I analyzed and recommended the software that was chosen. During my tenure the directories underwent several re-designs to add color and increase consumer usability and value to advertisers.
