As part of the SAE Engineering events team, I organize and develop content for technical meetings on topics such as avionics, power systems, telematics, intelligent vehicle systems, unmanned systems, and aerospace topics.

Manage business development activities for power and energy management systems (including generation, conversion and distribution products), vetronics, and aftermarket opportunities primarily in the DoD.

· Providing leadership and technical expertise for an Army demonstrator program for the Stryker vehicle valued at over $6M. The program aims to increase the available electrical power on the vehicle by 5 times the current capability and provides features to improve mobility, survivability, and lethality of the platform.· Leveraging products from a variety of unrelated programs to develop a power management demonstration program on the Army’s M109-A6 Paladin. Performance on demonstrator has led to $9M contract for production and solidifying the company’s position as the leader in the emerging market.· Managed a $6.0M internal development budget aimed at providing a standard product line to enable the Vehicle Systems business to reduce the NRE costs and provide faster turn-around time for new products. The investment has yielded at least nine new contracts, including the Stryker, Paladin, and Future Combat Systems.

Provided technical leadership for a team of professionals, which delivered the world’s first hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) heavy-duty drive train. Implemented multi-generation product line plan for future vehicle development.· Instrumental in the development and fielding of HEV heavy-duty drive train. Fielded systems attained significant improvement in fuel economy and reduction in emissions while maintaining vehicle capability.· Evolved system capability by integrating independent system software designs to achieve multiple platform capability.· Managed Research and Development budget to improve system reliability by 100%, including emissions controls devices, electronic controllers, and electro-mechanical components· Implemented process improvements to reduce design cycle time while improving product documentation.

Directed activity to design and build nine independent, multi-use test stations for complete system, integration, and reliability testing of Hybrid Electric Vehicle power train.· Designed, built, and integrated two independent four-quadrant dynamometers for individual component testing and complete vehicle simulation.· Achieved tight schedule while coordinating with each design function to meet individual testing needs.· Developed custom LabVIEW interface for system development and integration.

Served as lead systems engineer on small-scale research project with outside customer focus.· Designed, built, and integrated a triple-redundant flight control system for a competitive concept demonstration.· Integrated several new technologies including active stiffness control, advanced position sensing techniques, inter-actuator trim control, and distributed electronics· Focal point for coordination with partner company (Moog Inc.) and customer (Boeing).· Team achieved the winning concept and was selected as the winning design in the competition.
