I am a produce professional and passionate about fruits and vegetables. I was raised in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley (California). I worked on farms that raised peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots, cherries, grapes, pears, apples, olives, organges and lemons. I also worked in packing houses and performed various warehouse operations. One of those operations included a large California tomato company which I performed sales (but also was instrumental in quality control and the ripening processes) . I also helped to establish port operations throughout the USA and helped to bring Chilean fruits into the USA for the largest fruit export company, $130 million in sales. I traveled extensively to Chile, living there for months at a time, and have established many grower relations. I was also a buyer of fresh produce for a large grocery chain. Today I perfom produce brokerage / sales and consulting services (for the retail trade) .. both domestic and international.Specialties: Procurement, quality control, port operations, distribution strategies, warehouse, labor management, union labor, repackage and special packs for fresh produce, consulting.
