Information Technology Support Analyst
Jackson, Mississippi, United States
As an IT support analyst, I was brought into the Center for Telehealth to work on myriad systems involving UMMC's telemedicine solutions. This included physical installation and maintenance of the teleconferencing devices (mostly Polycom and Tandberg/Cisco video codecs and cameras), both in semi-permanent wall-mounted areas and on telemedicine carts. I have some very slight experience with the AMX style of A/V controllers and related equipment, specifically the NX controllers; I am also somewhat familiar with assorted A/V equipment such as microphones, speakers, etc.Furthermore, my skills at desktop support were enhanced and expanded during this time. I have very extensive skills in dealing with most routine Microsoft desktop issues, specifically for the Windows OS and the Office suite of desktop publishing products; those few issues that are not routine, I am capable of researching to find solutions for. I have been responsible for helping to install Windows on scores of systems, both in terms of individual use and as part of a managed environment (such as with Active Directory and/or SCCM). As an A+ desktop technician, I am trained in handling the hardware needs of both desktops and laptops.Due to needs of telemedicine, I consider myself mildly familiar with most common network issues (mostly from the client-side standpoint), as well as being very familiar with the use of most web-based teleconferencing systems such as Jabber, Skype, Zoom, and other programs. I am skilled at diagnosing issues with such systems, and determining the best solution to handling problems that arise (such as network latency/throughput, system processing issues, etc.). Having worked in a clinical hospital environment for my career, I have received stringent instruction in HIPPA compliance training, especially patient data security. I have experience with working in a clinical environment, including maintaining a hygienic/sterile work area as needed.
