Chief Executive Officer / Clinical Nurse

Registered Nurse
I have worked in many roles as a Registered Nurse, both in Australia and in the UK. I've worked in fulltime staff roles and am presently working casually through Western Australia's premier agency (Nursewest). NB: I'm also working as an RN through my own business - Nightingale Home Healthcare.
Hse Advisor
Hse Technical Writer
I was seconded to the Water Corporation of Western Australia to aid in the re-writing of their HS documents. Key areas such as CSE, Work at Height, Lifting / rigging, driving etc. were reviewed for completeness and were re-written to ensure best practice. The task involved extensive liaison within the corporation and was subject to a dedicated timeframe and end date.
Hse Coordinator
My role within Woodside saw me providing HSE expertise to the personnel on the Goodwyn Platform. The majority of my work was focussed on coaching, auditing, monitoring and ensuring conformance to the HSE system. Across facilities, I was the focal point for Radiation Safety and Human Factors knowledge. My tenure with Woodside saw me also work on the Nganhurra FPSO and the Okha FPSO. Goodwyn Platform produces dry gas and condensate from the Goodwyn, Searipple and Perseus satellite field reservoirs. The product is exported by an interfield pipeline, before being transported via a trunkline system to the Karratha Gas Plant for processing. The Nganhurra FPSO is an oil production facility located 50 kilometres north-west of Exmouth, Western Australia. At 142k tonnes and 260m in length, this working marine vessel can disconnect from the riser turret and steam to a destination if need be. Okha FPSO is an oil production facility which is moored to a riser turret. The FPSO has been producing since 1995 and is connected to the fields by flexible flowlines to subsea wells. Crude is offloaded from the facility via a flexible line to bulk tankers, while a pipeline exports LPG-rich gas from the Cossack and Wanaea fields to the North Rankin Complex, before being transferred to the Karratha Gas Plant for processing. The practical experience I gained while on the platform was fantastic and valuable. I was able to view first hand all the practical platform workings and familiarise myself with the process of separation and drying of gas, with subsequent compression and transfer to shore. I resigned from the organisation as I had achieved what I had originally set out to accomplish.
Hse Specialist - Wheatstone Operations.
I transferred from Gorgon Upstream to Wheatstone Upstream Operations group in order to assist with the set up of operations HSE structures and systems. The knowledge I gained in Chevrons systems of work, was utilised to aid a smooth transition for Wheatstone from construction, through to steady state operations. The Wheatstone team was a great one and I would have liked to stay longer. However it was unfortunate timing, because when I transferred to Wheatstone, Chevron were looking to streamline the workforce. I was a contractor and was not guaranteed stability in the position. Hence, I chose to look for an alternative, more stable position.
Team Lead: Health And Safety
The team lead role in Chevron was a fantastic position to undertake. I was responsible for people and operational aspects. I built the team from a small base to ultimately having 3 direct reports (Onshore Coord, Offshore Coord and an Incident Investigation Coord); with the next layer down being multiple indirect reports – both corporate and site based. I achieved a lot in this position and took great pride in the work we all completed and the way in which it was accomplished. I fostered a real team spirit and still count those years of hard work as some of the best I’ve had in my career so far.
Health And Safety Advisor
I started in Gorgon at a time when there were only 2 HSE advisors (myself and another). The work load was immense, as there were minimal HSE processes in place. It really was a scenario of starting with a very blank slate. I rose to the challenge and like to think that my logical and practical mindset, was influential in setting up an easy to use, but verifiable work system. The manager at the time recognised my efforts and was quite complementary many times. I was made up to the team lead role after working as an advisor for 1 yr.
Senior Environment, Health & Safety Advisor.
As the Senior Advisor within Drilling Services, my work revolved around 3 key areas; ie to support drilling services through a continuous improvement process, assist the Zone Manager to understand and meet his EHS obligations and to lead the operational teams and drive progress towards our corporate objectives.A key achievement in this role, was my coordination and introduction of a Frontline Management program for the business. I was able to influence management to invest in the program. I also organised a key business improvement seminar for our division, which involved a number of targeted persons within our division, whom were assessed as being influential in their role, and who could act to change and improve business practices.
Manager, Occupational Safety & Health Department.
I managed the development, implementation and review of the Hospital's Occupational Safety & Health system, ensuring compliance with OSH and Injury Management legislation.RPH consists of corporate and clinical arenas and at the time had ~ 4 700 FTE staff. I provided the following programs, through a department of 10 staff:1. Injury Awareness & Prevention;2. Injury Management; and Workers Compensation Claims Management;3. Staff Health Services and Infectious Diseases Screening Service; &4. The coordination of hospital fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures.
