At Google I led a team responsible for User Abuse Detection, and our mission was to identify and remediate user-targeted abuse across Google Cloud Platform and its APIs. We fought credential theft, phishing, malware delivery and much more. As domain experts, we provided analysis and insights to our Policy teams to help them understand and remediate risks within our domain, and to understand the potential effects and side-effects of policy changes. We solved problems through advanced data analytics techniques made possible by Google tools like BigQuery, made our impacts clear and quantifiable through sensible metrics, and we created automated and scalable solutions through rules-driven tools and Machine Learning.

As part of US Bank’s Threat Intelligence Platforms team, I provided technical and strategic consulting services to the Bank’s cyberdefense teams. I spent most of my time working with highly talented Threat Intelligence and Incident Response teams, building new ways of finding, aggregating and making sense of TONS of cyber threat data. I used cool cybertools like Tanium and Risk Fabric, which enabled one of my coolest accomplishments - developing a centralized, PHP7, RESTful and SOAP API powered dashboard for aggregating signals and making them immediately actionable across multiple security teams.
