I have expert experience working with key decision-makers at world-class brands across all major sectors of travel & tourism, including, attractions, airlines, entertainment, casinos, hotels, lodging, cruise lines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs), and restaurants.My original role was to sell display advertising but over time I morphed it into that of a consultative client partner with a passion for 360 degrees thinking on behalf of the client - and how TripAdvisor could increase their profitable revenue. I also became a client advocate back to TripAdvisor because nobody understood my clients better than me. Ultimately, I carved out a key accounts’ role, having brought clients such as Disney from spending $200K to over $4 million annually. I eventually earned The Walt Disney company as an enterprise-wide client – the 1st in the company.I had several major accomplishments that were wins for the client, consumers, and TripAdvisor, two of which stood out:• The first was my conceiving of “Disney as a Destination” for Walt Disney World in which they would become a geographic destination on the site, just like Orlando. Disney was ecstatic and sent out a co-branded press release announcing the activity. Disney Parks subsequently had the right of 1st refusal to own that inventory every year in the annual upfront agreements. Revenue was typically ~$1 million annually.• The second was when the global economy/travel took a downturn – especially longer haul flight travel – I conceptualized sponsored ‘Tank of Gas’ trips, in which TripAdvisor promoted more affordable road trips that could be taken within one tank of gas from a given IP address. It was popular especially among hotel clients who were able to boost business with more drive-to customers. Revenue was up to $500K annually.
