As a Site Reliability Engineer, the ideal candidate will have experience designing, building and supporting highly-available hosting environments for large scale web sites. You will collaborate with teams across OWW to plan, coordinate and carryout tasks and projects for our various environments. Your focus will be on proactive system administration and detection of issues and vulnerabilities. We value dedicated, enthusiastic, and energetic teammates who are serious about their careers and who value a collaborative team environment.Responsibilities: • Be consistently proactive about identifying risks, vulnerabilities, and issues in our environments which you then collaboratively drive to mitigation • Act as Unix/Linux system administrator • Use application monitoring tools for monitoring, alerting, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of network, application and server issues • Plan and execute deployment of new capacity and manage various deployments • Perform application and site performance analysis • Act as 3rd or 4th level support for incidents escalated from our Service Operations Center • Use change management tools and processes for environment configuration management and communication • Create infrastructure documentation as well as Standard Operating Procedures which will be used by support teams • Automate repetitive tasks to eliminate manual work where possible • Monitor application logs for errors and help in problem resolution and root cause analysis • Consult with product development teams and other resources regarding application performance • Ensure security of our environments by adhering to security guidelines and requirements; as well as working directly with OWW’s security team to proactively identify and manage security risks • Act as technical consult and support for various projects throughout the organization

I collaborate with teams across Orbitz Worldwide to plan, coordinate and carryout tasks and projects for our various environments. My focus is on proactive system administration and detection of issues and vulnerabilities. Responsibilities: • Be consistently proactive about identifying risks, vulnerabilities, and issues in our environments which you then collaboratively drive to mitigation • Act as Unix/Linux system administrator • Use application monitoring tools for monitoring, alerting, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of network, application and server issues • Act as 3rd or 4th level support for incidents escalated from our Service Operations Center • Use change management tools and processes for environment configuration management and communication • Create infrastructure documentation as well as Standard Operating Procedures which will be used by support teams • Automate repetitive tasks to eliminate manual work where possible • Monitor application logs for errors and help in problem resolution and root cause analysis • Perform standard preventive maintenance on servers • Consult with product development teams and other resources regarding application performance • Ensure security of our environments by adhering to security guidelines and requirements; as well as working directly with Orbitz Worldwide's security team to proactively identify and manage security risks • Assist in planning and implementing updated architectures to improve the overall supportability of Orbitz Worldwide's environment.

In this expanded role I handle the operational state of affairs with the Orbitz Partners. I also work as a second level technical resource for our groups to speak to when they are having specific issues dealing with the hosted environments and notifications processes.I am the direct contact for handling communications with partner groups to make sure that their needs are being met and to work with them if there are issues that they see manifesting. I also work internally to make sure that any processes and practices that are in place meet all our needs as well and don't conflict with other standards in place. I handle all Second Tier Support and Application Engineering for our NEAT Front End Platform, handling all Systems Architect and Senior System Administration support of them. I develop the management scripts and all other supporting components that are not directly tied to the engine code.Working in my current role I handle all Orbitz Blogs which are being maintained within a Wordpress environment. This includes handling all troubleshooting, upgrading and system management for the servers and applications. It also includes migrating new blogs into the environment, incorporating localization support into themes and plugin development for adding features. I also build support scripts to simplify management, upgrade and migration of the blog environment.Finally I work with groups to make sure new tools are able to meet all the needs and have the features added so that they can be effectively used for all external and partner groups.

I am a Operations & Technical Lead II for the Partner Techincal Support Team. It is my responsibility to act as second tier support on all of the technology for our Partner Services and interfaces as well as developing and maintaining additions for supporting those technologies first hand.I work with the developers to make sure the sites are consistently stable and accessible to customers so that they are able to access and complete bookings without issue. We also work on ensuring that there is someone available to give information on the status of our accounts and so the department as a whole can function as a cohesive unit.

Responsible for the networks, servers and workstations for over twenty companies ranging from Medical Clinics to Law firms. Within their businesses I had a litany of responsibilities including the following:- Troubleshooting any issues that develop on the servers including the rebuilding of servers should the damage or issues turn into a case of disaster recovery.- Building network systems so that they best offer solid traffic usage as well as offering the most effect means for growth to the network. This includes suggesting and installing equipment that allows for future growth on the network and not causing the continuous replacement of equipment when it can be avoided.- Discussing with management to assist in defining the exact nature of their needs in regards to the hardware they are looking to purchase as well as helping them determine what would be the best implementation for users when considering the requirements of the software.
