Functioned as the Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Technical Services for Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, a not-for-profit health system that supports the nation's fourth largest community hospital system with more than 14 facilities, 1,275-beds, 3,892 employees, and over 1,000 affliliated physicians. Responsible for the strategic technology and security plan for all system-wide initiatives, with primary focus on the successful implementation of the Siemens Soarian EHR project.Oversight included technical, security, and operational areas, such as network engineering and operations, network security, information security, infrastructure applications and databases, desktop engineering, Linux/windows systems, identity and access management, storage, disaster recovery, backup, data center, help desk, change management, server virtualization, application virtualization, desktop virtualization, IT governance, cloud computing, and video conferencing. Responsible for annual operating budgets up to $4.8 million and annual capital budgets up to $32 million.Led one of the largest IT initiatives in the history of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; as Program Manager, turned around critical 2-year multi-million data center build out and complex server/application migration program; collaborated with business and clinical stakeholders to deliver project 4 months ahead of schedule.Launched a new project expense tracking system saving $1.1 million in losses. Reduced server provisioning by 14 days with customized server deployment process, including saving an additional 9 days using server virtualization. Improved infrastructure lifecycle management by 25% through implementing comprehensive vendor/contract management and asset management programs.

Team lead and hands on responsibility and oversight of mission critical enterprise messaging and collaboration environment, consisting of complex, multi-platform 17+ terabyte SAN-based Windows, Linux and Unix servers. Transformed problematic messaging system from 8 servers/2 applications to robust architecture of 60 servers/38 applications. Successfully turned around troubled 10,000 user Microsoft Active Directory Services upgrade. Led Microsoft Exchange mailbox migration project, improving reliability, scalability, and usability of 12,500-user mission critical messaging and collaboration system by 200 percent.. Managed team of 7 messaging and collaboration direct reports. Presented with Cedars-Sinai Health System President’s Award, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center CIO Award, and special recognition by Cedars-Sinai Chief of Staff for delivering outstanding customer service to clinical and business units.
