I was a key contributor to the creation and launch of a new middle market loan strategy for the US Private Credit Solutions team. I utilized a working partnership with a regional bank credit team to source middle market loans directly on a secondary basis while underwriting the loans.➤ Lead Underwriter (30+ credits) for a $250M middle market separate account.➤ In addition to performing due diligence, cash flow modeling and analysis of capital structure and term sheet, I managed credit flow utilizing the Black Mountain platform for more efficient process control.➤ Assisted the team in marketing and fundraising for the new loan product. Developed strong relationships with buy and sell side analysts, sales teams, portfolio managers and private equity firms. 👉 Generated higher than plan returns for main client while underwriting primary and secondary broadly syndicated and middle market leveraged loan deals.👉 Selected by co-CEO for assignment in Frankfurt and across other European offices to build and strengthen relationships with distribution, product development, research, compliance and risk management staff.

I was a Director and Senior analyst at Aladdin Capital, and an integral member of the loan funds team which was acquired by Sound Harbor Partners in Jan 2013. I monitored and reviewed 50 credits comprised of high yield bonds, leveraged first and second lien loans across eleven CLO funds and five separate managed accounts representing $4.5B of AUM for Aladdin Capital.👉 During the 2008-2009 financial crisis, I reviewed distressed credits and worked closely with other lenders, bankers and legal teams to effectuate optimal outcomes on amendments, consents and waiver requests in addition to restructuring proposals, workouts and participation in DIP facilities.➤ The credit team ramped a new CLO and separate account for Sound Harbor, a private credit manager specializing in alternative investments in corporate loans, direct lending, distressed debt and opportunistic credit.➤ Supported fundraising efforts at both Sound Harbor and Aladdin, opened several new separate accounts, and assisted the team in marketing, presentations and talking points in addition to Q&A preparation for a global investor base.👉 As part of the transition, I on-boarded the loan funds onto the Black Mountain system and successfully integrated appropriate processes and controls. ➤ I also actively participated in regular investment idea reviews screening secondary market securities and performing relative value analysis to propose trading ideas across sectors.

I was a first 10 hire who successfully grew the company from inception to 8 CLO funds. I also oversaw the successful development of credit analysts and managed 85 bank loans representing $400m of assets within ~$2.5b of assets under management.As an active member of the team conducting the underwriting process on primary transactions, I interacted often with management teams, private equity firms and bank analysts as part of our due diligence process. I also developed cash flow models, utilized stress testing and assessed business strategy and industry comps in evaluating credits. 👉 I was promoted twice in recognition of my contributions, increased workload and supervisory responsibilities.

I managed 20 loans and underwrote 20 primary transactions before being promoted to Senior Associate.
