About James Braham
I, 26yrs, am currently employed as an Operations Manager at Barrows UK, an ever-growing global agency in the retail marketing space. I have been with the company since February 2023.In 2021, I completed my political science honours degree, specialising in International Relations at the University of Cape Town (UCT). I had previously graduated in 2020 with a BSocSci degree; triple-majoring in Politics, Media Studies, and English. In 2022, I set out on an adventure exploring various countries around the world to gain greater life experience at my age. The destination that held a value for my growth was Costa Rica, having volunteered on a permaculture farm (learning about sustainable ways of living) and at a surf hostel. After completing school at the end of 2016, I undertook a ‘Tutor’s Worldwide’ Gap programme to Christchurch, New Zealand in 2017 where I worked at Christ’s College. Easy going and determined to succeed at whatever I put my mind to, I am passionate about sport, nature, writing, and politics – all playing pivotal roles in my life, besides family. I would describe my personality as determined and hardworking, yet very adaptable in the sense that I have a good sense of humour and I like to make sure people are happy around me. A prefect and Head of House in my schooling career at St John’s College, Johannesburg, I have good leadership qualities and enjoy utilising these qualities effectively. As a result, I have captained various teams over the years. Additionally, I took part in a Change the World Model United Nations (CWMUN) in 2020/2021, representing Spain in a mock General Assembly on the topic of Nuclear Deterrence. Interaction is vital for me and I communicate well with people. I was a part of the Golden Key Society and Dean’s Merit List whilst at UCT. I graduated with a first class pass in my honours year. As stated previously, I have a passion for writing, politics, literature, adventure and enjoy travelling to places I have not explored before and thrive in new environments. I also have kept busy in the past with my blog, the Jamb!
