I am a driven Junior pursuing a Master of Accountancy at BYU's Marriott School of Business. I have a strong interest in tax and college football. As a 4.0 student who understands the value of education yet realizes the need for real-life experience, I am eager to gain more hands-on experience in the fields of tax and accounting. I gained increased insight into the financial field while working as a finance intern at Mellor Financial, a small-town finance and accounting firm. While there, I quickly overcame a learning curve to learn how to help small businesses determine whether or not they qualified for the Paycheck Protection Program. There I became interested in helping businesses and people manage their wealth.Following my time at Mellor Financial, I spent two years as a voluntary representative for my church. During those years in Washington D.C. and Nagoya, Japan, I learned Japanese and valuable communication and leadership skills that have served me well in my business pursuits.In my current role on the finance team at a software company called Smarty, I work with several programs including Freshbooks, Salesforce, and internal records to verify that records are correct. I also do accounts receivable work to ensure that money earned is received.
