My focus during my time in this role was to build my experience in sales, industry and economic forecasting, as well as develop plans and report outcomes to Senior Management up to President level, as well as TMC in Japan. Major successes included significantly improving provincial industry forecasts, applying mathematical regression and trend analysis to industry forecasts, applying new logic for industry segmentation forecasts and improving the forecasted effects of competitor launches on sales plans.

During my time in the field I gained an excellent understanding of dealership operations, as well as significant B2B and Account Management skills. The triple crisis' of Recession, Recalls and Tsunami that happened during this time enabled me to help focus dealers on key selling techniques and sustaining profitability. Specific improvements I brought to dealers included instituting and applying an Accessory Profit sharing model which resulted in a significant sales improvement such that my territory was the Top Accessory sales territory in Ontario. I also developed and implemented a Finance Renewal sales process that resulted in top dealers consistently improving volumes by 5-10% every month. Another success was developing and rolling out a Vehicle Order Suggest Tool that recommended specific vehicles to order based on sales history. This resulted in huge improvements in inventory management, with some dealers reporting 10-20% in holding cost reductions.

My role at Scion was to take an Scion as an idea to be sold in Canada, integrate the brand in the existing business and lay the ground work for a successful brand launch. After studying the US model, I used a detailed workback schedule to touch almost every part of the business through the integration process. Key successes included Autoshow planning and kickoff, a complete revamp of the sales process, selected dealer displays and stands, focused on new types of marketing (particularly Social Media) and planned sales volume and dealer network rollout.

This was the role I was recruited from Toyota Australia to develop at Toyota Canada. Using my strong Product Planning experience I developed all the internal procedures, and mapped out planning schedules from product inception through to launch. Key successes included the introduction of telematics and Satellite Radio into Canada, harmonizing product ideas with Toyota US (TMS) and focusing on the need for specific cold weather product features for life in Canada.

When I first came to Toyota Canada, I was asked to revamp Toyota's Product pricing models using much deeper analysis and logic than had previously been used. Key successes included CEP pricing studies to grade variant level, implementing new strategic focus profit pricing analysis and using new methodology to more accurately forecast option take rates.

In Australia I was responsible for Australian Locally Manufactured vehicles, which included Camry and Aurion. Here I regularly liaised with factory side and engineering to work around product problems and develop the best possible vehicle for Australia with the limited resources we had available. Key wins were the securing of unique styling for Aurion V6 with different front and rear treatments, adoption of unique suspension development and interior trims, and the development of special Limited Editions during the close out of the model cycle. I was also involved with Toyota Team Racing Rally Team, acting as the key Corporate person for the internal kickoff and promotion of Corolla entrant in the Australian Rally Championship.

Due to my strong worth ethic and management skills Toyota Australia seconded me to Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan to act as the key window person for Product Planning and Government Affairs. My responsibility included Australia, New Zealand and various Pacific countries and I acted as a the key supporter for the product needs of these countries. Here I regularly met with TMC Product Planning groups, explained the operating environment of vehicles in Australia and discussed Australian purchasing habits, as well as helped construct presentations for key TMC top management.
