* I am responsible for writing and unit testing bespoke code for clients of the company’s Operational Risk Management software suite. The suite is comprised of a reconciliation/data matching application, an exception management application, and a thin-client reporting tool. * I write code in a number of different languages, including PHP, SQL queries, Microsoft T-SQL and Oracle PL/SQL procedures and triggers, Perl, HTML, XML/XSLT, Javascript, and an in-house scripting language. * I have produced code for numerous customers across virtually every business sector, but primarily the banking and financial services sectors. * Supported platforms are Windows, Unix, Solaris.* With my comprehensive knowledge of the company’s software, I am also frequently approached by the product consultants to help design technical solutions that meet the business requirements of the clients.

* I installed a reconciliation application at customer sites across the country, and trained customers on its use. * The role also involved providing telephone support to customers. * Customers from every business sector, but primarily financial services.* Technolgies included SQL Server, Oracle, and an inhouse scripting language.

* I was responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of IT projects.* The most common project type was managing the IT aspect of office moves, organising the physical movement and reconnection of equipment to the network. * The role involved liaising with internal business departments, facilities management, and IT resources to ensure that IT service was uninterrupted following a move.* I would also be present to man manage during the physical move.* Other projects included the modification and deployment of software packages on Prudentials bespoke operating system.

* Providing second line IT support to Prudential’s Reading operation. * I supported a large number of desktop applications, and fixed hardware and networking problems. * Also administered Prudential’s custom NT4 based operating system.

* I was part of a “tech team” for the call centre, providing first line technical support to the teleconsultants, and liasing with telecoms and IT to resolve issues. * The role also involved configuring and maintaining the automated call distributor (ACD), producing management information, and specifying and testing improvements to the call centre systems
