ShoreExcursions.com is my affiliate website that sells sightseeing tours, port activities, and attractions to cruise passengers. (I also own the singular version “ShoreExcursion.com.”) We’re growing fast!

I started CruiseAdvice.com to sell cruises to my family, friends & neighbors, but I also sell to new clients that need help planning their cruise vacations. CruiseAdvice is an independent agency in the Avoya Travel Network, and a proud member of Travel Leaders Network. I've been in the cruise industry for over 33 years, have sailed on 70+ cruises, and toured 150+ ships. I sell all major lines including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Azamara, Carnival, NCL, Disney, Princess, Holland America, Regent, Atlas, Ritz Carlton, Oceania, Seabourn, Cunard, Viking, Uniworld, AmaWaterways, Virgin Voyages, Scenic and Silversea.

WMPH Vacations is a Florida-based travel company specializing in selling cruise vacations. This company owns and operates a successful portfolio of websites including iCruise.com, CruiseCheap.com, AlaskaCruises.com & RegentCruises.com. They also fulfill cruises for CruiseGuy.com and CruiseAdvice.org. In 2019 they sold over $120 million in cruise revenue. In December 2019, WMPH was acquired by arrivia (formerly known as I.C.E. - International Cruise & Excursions) based in Scottsdale, AZ. They’re now part of a billion dollar per year travel organization with almost 1,500 employees and offices in 12 countries.

I filmed 360-degree virtual tours for the travel & hospitality industry. I specialized in filming cruise ships, and leasing the use of these tours to online cruise retailers. My virtual tours were featured on various travel sites, including those owned and operated by my former employer, NLG - National Leisure Group (CruiseOne.com, Orbitz.com, Hotwire.com, CruisesOnly.com, CheapTickets.com, Cruise411.com, Cruises.com, and 1-800-CRUISES.com).

In 2003, National Leisure Group (NLG) purchased the North American assets of MyTravel/Airtours for $110 million including the primary cruise brands of CruisesOnly, 1-800-CRUISES, CruiseOne, Cruises Inc., & Cruises.com. Four months later, they closed our Delray Beach FL office, laying off most of the 125 HQ employees. Poor upper management at NLG in Boston then drove the company to the brink of bankruptcy. In 2006, the company was purchased by World Travel Holdings (WTH) who successfully turned the company around.

Airtours purchased Travel Services International, (TSI) and rebranded as MyTravel. The rebranding was a failure. Less than two years later they sold the North American assets to NLG, National Leisure Group, based in Boston.

Travel Services International (formerly Nasdaq:TRVL) was a roll-up of successful travel companies, including CruisesOnly, Cruises Inc., Auto Europe, Travel 800 (1-800-FLY-CHEAP) and D-FW Tours. They then went public and bought Gold Coast Cruises, Cruise Line Inc., CruiseOne, CruiseWorld, CruiseMasters, Cruise Fairs of America, The Travel Company, Cruise Outlet of the Carolinas, 1-800-CRUISES, Lifestyle Vacation Incentives, Lexington Services, Landry & Kling, Diplomat Tours, Trax Software, & ABC Corporate Services. For a brief period many of these companies were rebranded as The Travel Company, then Travelco, then MyTravelco, which were all a failure. The company was purchased in 2002 by British travel conglomerate Airtours.

1-800-CRUISES was the brainchild of my dad James (Scotty) Cassidy. After working for BOAC & British Airways for 32 years, Scotty, along with my mom Marianne, started corporate & leisure travel agencies in Boca Raton FL named The Travel Dept.. They also had an in-house cruise division named Cruise Quarters of Boca Raton. Scotty then searched for, found, and purchased the unused toll-free phone number 1-800-CRUISES. He attempted to lease use of the phone number to various travel agencies around the USA based on territories, but this was short lived. I relocated from California to Florida and we formed a new company to compete with larger cruise agencies by selling cruises nationwide over the phone. Our memorable phone number helped us to grow quickly before being purchased four years later in 1998 by TSI, Travel Services International. Unfortunately, Scotty Cassidy passed away in June, 2024.

Fresh out of college with a BS in Business Administration/Marketing, I was hired by Princess Cruises at their Los Angeles (Century City) Headquarters. I started in reservations, then handled special accounts. A year later I moved to the Inside Sales department assisting the reps in Florida and Arizona. I was then promoted to District Sales Manager with my own territory in Southern California including the San Fernando Valley & San Gabriel Valley. After the Northridge earthquake in 1994, I left Princess and relocated to Florida to help my dad start a new cruise agency named 1-800-CRUISES.
