My objective with this position is to blend my consulting expertise with a first-hand understanding and operating repsonsibility for a key retail category. The office supply channel is particularly interesting because suppliers of cross-channel implications, the lack of category management information and expertise typically found among CPG suppliers, and the ability to shift the supply chain paradigm from simply enabling growth to actually driving it.Key activities conducted in this position include: Forecasting demand by store grouping and SKU in order to develop an optimal shelf inventory that maximizes in-stocks while minimizing inventory costs.Control supply chain flow consistent with strategic, operational and performance metrics established by executive management.Manages key vendor relationships to streamline the supply chain, insure appropriate levels of product flow and support critical corporate initiatives.Guides category buyers by identifying growth opportunities through adjustments in category assortment and space management.Lead cross-functional projects with groups as diverse as Space Planning, Merchant Teams, Store Operations and E-Commerce Team and Store Management.Update corporate officers on the status of the supply chain by creating proprietary frameworks to prioritizing critical improvement opportunities, and identify the key activities to execute the strategies.
