I started in the credit card processing industry in 1994 with Merchant Services USA (MSUSA) in Winston-Salem, NC. Global Payments Inc purchased MSUSA in 1998. I joined International CyberTrans in 2001 after having a working relationship with President and CEO, Joyce Cook, for many years earlier working as the Accounts Executive for Global Payments Inc, managing her prior company’s account. Joyce Cook sold International CyberTrans in 2012 to BB&T. I am now working in the Merchant Business and Communications area with BB&T in Winston Salem, NC.My early work included product research and development with various credit card terminal manufacturers. I assisted in writing technical manuals for terminal programming and major credit card processors' set up systems, including Global Payments and TSYS (formerly Visanet). I have also worked with terminal manufacturers to create marketing materials for various products. In 1997, I worked with Visa and MasterCard in a Smart Card pilot program in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Visa Cash and Mondex were the smart card programs offered by each of the card companies respectively. The program was cutting edge for many reasons including the additional benefit of allowing customers to reload value to their cards as opposed to a single loading of value, and subsequent disposal of the card. During my 15+ years in the industry, changes and advances in the progression of technology have been a fundamental element of my day-to-day operation.
