This role involves aspects of traditional image processing and machine learning to develop accurate automated methods or extracting roads from satellite images and assessing their damage levels in post natural disaster scenes. The major focus of the work is to implement and test several convolutional neural network architectures and to assess their performance based on an end-to-end model which takes pre-processed satellite images and outputs a road mask and pixel-wise damage assessment of all detected roads.

Working with the natural hazards group, my role was to investigate the use of image processing and machine learning techniques that could be used with remotely sensed data. This involved working with individuals across a number of business divisions to identify strategic research directions that were in line with the strengths, capabilities and strategic objectives of the natural hazards team and Data61.

I worked in both the manufacturing and design groups of the business on the development of pneumatic height systems. My roles within manufacturing included assembly and small power tool use, tolerance and product performance testing, stock management and other general warehouse duties.In design, I worked with Solidworks and Fusion360 to develop parametric models of complex pneumatic systems, and on the design of sheet metal, milled, and cast component drafting and design.

Responsible for strategic planning, marketing and lead generation, business process and policy implementation and day-to-day operations of the business. I facilitated the expansion of the business to full operating capacity of 250+ regular clients with 3 trainers and in house health and wellness staff. In this role I focused on organic business growth through building a welcoming local fitness community and approached lead generation through networking and community engagement with strong ties to local business.
