Jamie Moon is a Technical Program and Test Manager. Colleagues describe them as "I have work closely with James for 8 years.
He is intelligent, hard working, communicates very well and handles pressure very well.
All the people who report to him appeared to like working for him. Turnover in his department is very low.
Over the years he picked up a lot of deep working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
James always had our clients (librarians and their patrons) front and center in mind before he supported a software release." and "I had the distinct pleasure of working with Jamie for approximately three years when I joined ProQuest’s Serials Solutions division in 2011. As the Senior Quality Assurance manager for our department, Jamie and his team were responsible for testing multiple projects concurrently – both legacy products and new initiatives – and played a critical role in delivering high quality SaaS-based applications to our customers and clients. Although Jamie managed a sizeable team, he always remained close to the code and had a deep understanding of our products; in some cases, he knew more about the way they worked than even rank and file developers. Additionally, Jamie had a formidable work ethic that he strived to inculcate within his team and was always flexible when formulating project plans. In an industry that frequently compresses QA schedules in favor of development work, Jamie looked for ways to get things done efficiently and correctly and was never comfortable with simply saying “No” without offering alternatives, options, or trade-offs. While he never avoided constructive criticism or hesitated to give his honest assessment of a situation, Jamie always tried to be flexible and figure out creative ways to test and validate a new release. During his tenure, he significantly improved QA automation, restructured the department to meet the demands of a matrixed organization (delegating to leads and reassigning SMEs as necessary), and worked hard to create a positive atmosphere of collaboration between his department and the rest of the technical organization. I can genuinely say that I hope Jamie and I will have the opportunity to work together again and that he would be an asset to any organization."
