Undertook the difficult task of positioning a 20 year old publicly-traded high-tech ERP related software corporation for sale under less than perfect conditions. I was responsible for worldwide sales and marketing including partnerships and resellers in Asia and Japan. Maintained complete P+L and operations responsibility. Worldwide new business acquisiton included Freightliner/Daimler, Steelcase Europe, Virgin Mobile, KKE Japan, Intelliquip, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and others. Maintained the highest degrees of integrity and energy while obtaining new clients, satisfying potential "take-private" buyers, and providing guidance to other executive management. In six months, the company was successfully sold to private holders at a 20% premium over the share price at the beginning of my tenure. I remained another 6 months during initial ownership transition. I grew revenues during difficult times for the corporation and industry at-large, instituted and executed large cost-savings plans, assisted new ownership in identifying internal business lines, buyers for those lines, and negotiating their ultimate sale. Most importantly, I maintained strong relationships with clients critical to the financial success of the organization as a viable ongoing concern. Firepond survives today as FPX, the leader in SaaS for CPQ in concert with Salesforce.com and other industry leaders.

Responsible for developing a sales and marketing organization, setting milestones in revenue, profitability and client acquisition as well as creating meaningful and long term revenue partnerships with technology, financial services companies and other industry leaders such as Xerox, Kodak, HP, Croplan Genetics, Stine, Cenex, Dairy Queen, Piper Jaffrey, US Bank, ING-Reliastar Financial, Cargill, et al. Digital Marketing combines best of breed personalized direct marketing capabilities with behavioral science methodology to design and execute client marketing programs for attracting customers, building loyalty, improving retention and increasing lifetime value. BI acquired Digital Marketing and subsequently renamed the organization Bridgz.

Led Midwest sales and marketing effort on the ground and in the trenches for this start-up Silicon Valley technology corporation. Led sales, marketing and client implementation teams to provide total customer satisfaction. I had the pleasure of working with some of the greatest technology and business visionaries in the world. I represented the company at events in Europe and especially in Germany. Impresse was sold and its application adapted in a wider space.

This position originally began as an internal consultant at Xerox as a Xerox Director, and within six months grew to a market development role at a Xerox partner, where in 1999, we won the Xerox Partner Award. I was responsible for laying the groundwork and developing a marketplace for new technologies and new applications for existing technologies in a multi-billion dollar arena. I chose prospects to engage in new hardware and software applications, created new processes and workflows and developed and instituted new methodologies along with the change methodologies needed to support programs within individual clients and across the entire industry. I taught at Xerox University in Leesburg, VA, where both Xerox and non-Xerox employees from around the world learned implementation strategies for this initiative.

Provided a start-up account base over a wide region of the US and Canada for this Isreali-based high technology disruptor company. Traveled extensively in the Middle East, North America and Europe to make presentations to market groups, potential investors and large corporate end-users. Indigo was purchased by HP for $1 billion 4 years after our 1994 IPO. Found and developed new and extremely profitable markets outside of traditional product targeting and positioning while simultaneously creating a massive installed base of traditional applications.

Founded and ran a niche provider addressing a market segment in need of "industrial strength" computing. Became one of the first independent resellers of Silicon Graphic Computers, and paired SGI with customized and off the shelf programming to meet the needs of high demand and high performance visual engineering, CAD/3-D Design, graphic servers and graphic manipulation applications. Successfully sold the business after two years of developing a solid installed base across North America. Gained experience doing business in Africa.

As a part of the North American Group, I successfully led teams and sold high-end laser technology and related imaging solutions into large commercial printers, consumer packaging related companies, security applications, circuit board manufacturers and other specialized manufacturers for this Gent, Belgium-based corporation. During my tenure, I also attended a Certificate Program at Universiteit Gent. I traveled throughout Europe and the Americas for sales and marketing purposes, making presentations and building a global users group. Consistantly exceeded quotas. Left the organization to become a reseller of Barco software and related software and hardware solutions from multiple developers.
