  • Playforce Ltd
    Poddely Manager
    Playforce Ltd Jun 2010 - 2013
    Northampton, Northamptonshire, Gb
After a successful start to my career at Playforce I was promoted to the role of Poddely Manager to develop sales channels beyond the principle core market.I was key to the development of the Poddely solution which offers children the chance to learn through play wherever they want. This was a great opportunity to use my Ed Psych background alongside my design experience to develop an offering for children. The solution was designed to provide the opportunities across the UK as well as internationally as the product itself is easily exportable. I was responsible for developing the Poddely Brand in totality, including developing the channel sales approach, marketing, gaining IP and TM certification as well as setting up international partners. Poddely launched in Q2 2011, and made a profit against all costs within the first 12 months 12 months. It is a ground breaking product in free play learning and is having a direct impact on learning and development across the UK, North America, Europe, Australia and soon to be in Asia too.During the Years 2011, 2012, 2013 I was also seconded to the main education sales team for 1-2 days per week, where I achieved sales of over £1m each year in addition to monies generated through Poddely channels.
  • Playforce Ltd
    Outdoor Grounds Consultant
    Playforce Ltd Jan 2007 - May 2010
    Northampton, Northamptonshire, Gb
I started working in Playforce as a Consultant in the South West of England. I had the chance to work with Schools and Children to develop Outdoor Learning and Play opportunities. The role offered warm opportunities, and I used previously employed account management skills to develop customer relationships as well as opening new opportunities via referral. Previously the region delivered £650k PA, and in 2007 it delivered £1.07m. I was (and still am) the only consultant to deliver over £1m in their first year at PF (previous record £720k). I also introduced a sale on the day initiative (SASY), where i'd visit a customer, design and sell on the day as opposed to waiting a period of 4-6 weeks from meeting to order. This generated over £300k of my first years sales and resulted in my conversion rate being the highest in an established sales team, 78% M/O. The following year I was moved to a more profitable territory of South East England and London. This gave me the opportunity to work with larger projects of higher values. Warm leads were available in the SE but were less prevalent than in the area I had developed in the SW, so I targeted Local Authorities, specifically to help them work with their schools and develop play opportunities. This hadn't been employed as a tactic by Playforce previously and was a very successful Medium term solution for uncovering opportunities. I went on to achieve £1.4m in 2008, £1.8m in 2009 and £1.2m within the first 6 months of 2010. During my role as an OGC, I was also promoted to Senior Grounds Consultant in 2009 and was asked to train new consultants when they started. I am proud to have formed good relationships with my customers as I aimed to be a trusted party to their design needs. Many of the strong relationships I formed with customers are still firmly in place today despite moving roles in 2010, and I am very proud of this as my selling career has always been built on having trusted relationships with my customers.
  • Uniservity
    Education Account Manager
    Uniservity 2004 - 2006
    Reading, Berkshire, Gb
Working with schools and Local Authorities to develop Learning Platforms as a Field Sales Consultant. The territory covered the majority of the South of England as well as South Wales. I had to develop a sales startergy to uncover opportunites, make contact and develop relationships from a cold standpoint, sell to a variety of different sakeholders at a School or Local Authority, and work wih the customer to embed the system across a single network or as part of a cluster group. I worked on a bottom up approach, selling to individual settings and using success achieved with them to fuel a top down sales tactic to work with clusters of Schools or Local Authorities. I achieved results of over £1.2m worth of contracts within the period of working at Uniservity, as well as enjoying a variety of experiences which significantly shaped my career.
