• The 15-month gap (with the average family-related leave of 25 months) I used to care for my wife's oldest sister who lived in the Saranac Lake, NY. Over the years preceding my time spent caring for her as she had become increasingly worse and we decided that her care would take precedence over my employment needs.• Her memory and general lack of awareness was putting her at unnecessary risk so we needed to step in. I was able to assist with the selling of her house and any assets. She's now in a Memory Care Facility/Fox Chapel area of Pittsburgh. Fortunately, my unemployment misfortune became a blessing in disguise has allowed me to provide the necessary care for her over the past year plus.• I did use my time away to learn some new skills relevant to my career.• I was able to hone additional skills like time management, compassion and communication.

o Responsibilities include reviewing and granting access to General Ledger (GL) Mart, Student Data Mart and Employee Data Mart based on Federated Authorization Forms submitted via PDF and/or Perceptive Content workflow by Pitt IT Security. This workflow was replaced on June 1, 2020 with the Federated Authorization Community in which I provided the necessary input and assistance to the development team.o Process Federated Authorization General Ledger (GL) Mart Central Directory Services (CDS) Group Requests. This includes creating the requested CDS group(s) according to the role in accounts. Additionally, I create the folder structure in Cognos Analytics and copy the appropriate Financial, Balance Sheet, Payroll and/or Research/RPA Reports as specified in the request. Finally, the reports are coded with default parameters and security is placed on the folders and reports for users to access.o Responsible for running the Monthly General Ledger Level reports for the university at the closing of each monthly GL period. I successfully streamlined the process by reducing the execution time that one time took between 24 and 36 hour to a range of 12 to 18 hours.o Responsible for the removal of General Ledger, Student and Employee Mart access based in part on the GL Mart Security Changes report. Confirmation of account termination is required and perform any backups of Cognos folders (if needed) using MetaManager Backup/Restore functionality.o Provide support in Cognos for Responsibility Center (RC) related changes that occur each fiscal year from The Office of the CFO. This may include the creation of new RCs and moving of departments from on RC to another RC. All underlying aspects of a change of this nature I am responsible for updating and work closely with the Financial Data Stewards to coordinate this transition.

o My Pitt - Portal Administrator (Nov ’07 – June ‘20) – Joined the Applications Architecture Team as a Portal Administrator who works with Oracle’s WebCenter Interaction. Strong working knowledge of the Oracle WCI, formerly BEA AquaLogic User Interaction and formerly Plumbtree web portal, Content Server, Studio Server and Collaboration Server portal products. Portal Administrator duties include configuring the display, navigation, and branding for the default experience definition for users within various schools and departments at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2015 assisted with the transition of portal communities to SharePoint sites for many customers. The new SharePoint site basically mimicked their My Pitt community counterpart but with updates that permitted our customer to have more value and flexibility with their site using SharePoint’s strengths.o My Pitt - Elections and Surveys Administrator (Mar ’08 – June ‘20) – I’ve been the technical lead responsible for administering this aspect of the portal since 2008 and this encompasses at least 55 or more online elections. The development team created customer election and survey applications tailored to the university audience. Some of the most notable elections that I support are the Homecoming and GSPIA elections which are held in the fall and also the high-profile Faculty Senate, Faculty Assembly and Senate Committees elections in the spring for the University Senate. Also, SGB, ULS and UPB – Faculty Senate and Pitt Law School Student elections. Regarding surveys I facilitate the OTP Chair, Dean and President Evaluations along with the UPB Chair, Dean and President Evaluations for a total of 29. I’ve created the necessary documentation for election chairperson so they can manage the application and updated instructions for voting where needed, because of this we are positioned nicely to have the users handle this eventually as self-serve.

o Responsible for the rewrite of the Faculty Activity Report System in ASP.NET 1.2.o Liaison between the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA) and the Computing Services and Systems Development Department (CSSD).o Responsible for ALPS (Automated Loan Processing System) system, which handles over $50 million dollars in student loans annually.o Converted ALPS file format from Systems Link to CommonLine Release 5.0 in order to comply with mandated PHEAA changes.o Support the Student Aid Management System for OAFA.

o Provide daily support for the Financial Reporting system including Wire Billing and Admin Billing. Developed the front-end menu for the new Claims Billing and Keystone Billing system on the AlphaServer. Also responsible for 18 million dollars in Weekly Wire Billing and Admin Billing during project leader’s absence.o Lead role in the software cleanup and upgrade of Financial Reporting to a Y2K compliant environment. Played a critical role in the Y2K Compliance test, the Interface test and the Partnership test with the mainframe and other downstream systems.
