Systems Administrator
CurrentPerform multiple IT roles to include server administration, information security, and software development.>> SERVER ADMINISTRATION <<* Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software to include servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server, and macOS Server operating systems.* Identify, evaluate, interpret, and apply applicable security and IT policies in the configuration and administration of servers.* Consult with customers to identify IT system needs. Evaluate, advise, and recommend available server and IT solutions and services which meet customer needs.* Create end user and technical documentation on the use of and administration of IT resources.* Install, configure and maintain database services to include MySQL, MariaDB and FileMaker.* Maintain endpoint management related systems to include Jamf, Ivanti, and Active Directory.>> INFORMATION SECURITY <<* Consult with customers in identifying, interpreting and implementing IT security policies.* Develop procedures and documentation for technical staff to implement relevant security policies.* Ensure that there is a timely response to reported security issues with IT devices and/or services.* Identify vulnerable network devices and remediate as necessary.* Assist units within the College in developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans.* Assist customers with identifying, creating, and implementing any necessary data security plans for research-based data. Provide assistance to customers in interpreting and implementing data security plans for research-based data.* Monitor patches to software and determine if the changes are detrimental to current system configurations.>> SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT <<* Develop and maintain both public and internal software applications to support IT operations. Develop both web-based and standalone applications across multiple hardware platforms.* Assist customers in resolving software development related issues.
