Mechanical Reliability Engineer for the paper machines at International Paper's largest containerboard paper mill.Recognized Accomplishments:Engineered a device that reduced the time of a complex procedure by 50% and ultimately made the job safer and less complicated. The device I engineered was broadcasted globally across the company and 2 other IP facilities are building this device for the same procedure. It saves 150k every time it is used compared to alternative methods. IP seeking patent. Designed the structure of a mobile platform that reduced press felt installation time by 50%. The design permanently reduced the critical path duration of the companies largest paper machine allowing startup to be 2 hours earlier every 7 weeks. Resulted cost savings is 30k every 7 weeks.Implemented innovative fastener predictive maintenance strategy that effectively found defected bolts before failure. I presented on this on a corporate level and many mills across the US are implementing to eliminate downtime related to fastener failures.Controlled screw jack chronic failure rate by categorizing 86 different jacks, performing an FMEA, organizing an inspection campaign, rushing in spare parts, and managing a campaign to replace all jacks out of specification. In total, 35 jacks were replaced in less than 12 months during scheduled outages.
