    Reporting to the Chairman of the Group, this role was an extension of the UK Sales Manager role and demanded that I develop the sales and marketing strategies for the entire company.I oversaw the European and Global Sales Networks continually looking for new areas of business at all times and setting up when necessary.It was apparent early on that there was a significant challenge with communication of products getting to their particular markets. It was sometimes taking upwards of 60 days for products to reach the remote sales teams and often in a foreign language. An intranet system was proposed and approved by the rest of the board. Its implementation meant that the products were on the market within 48 hours of release and in the appropriate market language. This made a significant difference to both morale, communication and sales.I was also involved in the overall marketing strategy of the Group. This ranged from more traditional media through the more analytical approach needed with online media. I also developed the new Social Media marketing plan for Europe, something that hasn't been done yet in our industry.I decided to leave after the planning, implementation and launch of a new website leaving the company in a perfect position to capitalise on the new marketing techniques in the social age.

    I was in charge of two separate sales teams when I took the position. A head office team which were telesales orientated and a remote sales team who were more exhibition and face to face orientated. There was no collaboration resulting in particularly bad customer service. With falling sales and a business model that was not financially viable, not to mention a disjointed approach to sales, I looked to bring the teams together. After some long and tough negotiations the teams were amalgamated and the costs significantly cut as a result. Service was improved to clients and the fall in sales was turned around within the 12 month period. Unit sales were increased for the first time in 4 years (3% increase year on year) and costs cut by over 40%.
