I returned to my telecoms roots and am a third line engineer supporting and installing Avaya's IP Office and Gamma Horizon telephone systems. After the integration of Masterpoint into Keycom's business I found my duties expand to a wide range of specialities. I installed and maintained Avaya IP Office telephone systems and associated applications, I supported business customers and end users in a variety of sectors, and I installed and commissioned cat5 and wireless networks across the country.

Worldwide

I was part of a team (later lead engineer) installing Tekelec STP's into mobile network switching centres worldwide. I was lucky enough to visit many varied countries, which influenced my outlook both professionally and personally.

Kettering

My first role in telecoms was a great experience. I learnt skills supporting many different PABX's including iSLX\BTex, Avaya Definity and IP Office, Samsung and GDK. I loved it and only left due to the promise of world travel! I returned shortly after I left T James.

My first job was as on an IT Helpdesk in an SME. After a couple of years I moved into second line support. As well as day to day faults and server and desktop support, I also managed two 200+ PC/laptop rollouts as we moved from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95 and then later to Windows 2000! This was a fantastic learning experience as a first job.
