Senior Developer - Clinical ApplicationsCentral Health Jun 2015 - PresentAustin, Texas AreaWork in collaboration with the Clinical Applications Support team as a senior developer. I am responsible for directing and assisting Clinical Applications Support developers in developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining clinical applications. This includes electronic health record template development, SQL procedure development, report development, user support tickets and troubleshooting. I assign work to the developers and meet regularly with leadership to go over team performance, projects and goals. Also, I work with leadership when time off requests are put in to make sure we have proper coverage and give a recommendation. - Trained two new NextGen developers and set goals for them over the course of several months. I met with them each week to go over progress and assisted them as needed. They learned how to leverage template editor, document builder and SQL stored procedures to customize the NextGen EHR. I also created a set of development standards to follow. - Earned my ScrumMaster certification and took on the role of ScrumMaster for Clinical Application Support. I facilitate bi-weekly sprint reviews to plan work and daily standup meetings to check in on work and/or find and eliminate road blocks. I document these meetings and meet with individuals as needed to receive/give feedback.- Collaborated with the Clinical Applications Support team, CommUnityCare and Central Health to perform upgrades to NextGen 5.8 UD1 and then later to UD2. We successfully moved CommUnityCare over to ICD10 and we converted all of the NextGen lab templates and configurations to a new lab vendor.- Collaborated with another Senior Developer to create a bi-directional HL7 interface from scratch between NextGen and a product called IRIS. This project involved interpreting the HL7 specification, designing SQL tables, customizing NextGen, using Mirth Connect to create interface channels and creating PDF’s from an HL7 message. The project went live without any issues. -
Programmer AnalystCommunitycare Apr 2014 - Jun 2015Austin, Texas AreaWorked as a developer on the NextGen EHR using NextGen template editor and Microsoft SQL server management studio. Met regularly with leadership to gather requirements as well as receive/give feedback on development projects. Coordinated with a team to perform a NextGen KBM upgrade to 8.3.5. Made recommendations to our infrastructure vender for updated production/development servers. - Performed a gap analysis for the NextGen KBM upgrade. This included meeting with various specialty leaders from CommUnityCare as well as manually researching differences through template editor and SQL server management studio. This was done to insure we carried forward relevant enhancements into the new upgrade.- Updated NextGen EHR templates, documents, stored procedures and configuration during a condensed timeframe for the NextGen 8.3.5 upgrade. The upgrade kicked off and finished within 3 months of my start date. -
Senior System Analyst/Network AdministratorInforth Technologies, Llc Apr 2010 - Apr 2014Traverse City, MichiganWorked as a network administrator, system analyst and consultant for client companies. I managed the networks for Great Lakes Orthopaedic Center, Inforth Technologies, and several other clients. Purchased and deployed all IT related equipment for each company. Utilized Hyper-V on Server 2008 R2 to deploy six virtual servers across two physical hosts. Provided RDS, print, file, SQL, and backup/restore services. Also provided help desk and after hours help desk in a rotating on-call schedule for clients.- Upgraded separate SQL and Image servers to a SQL 2008 R2 dual server cluster. This was built to expand storage space and add redundancy prior to a NextGen 5.8 upgrade.- Performed an upgrade from NextGen 5.6 to 5.8 while client was on KBM 8.0.1.- Deployed an entire on-site network supporting NextGen 5.6 for a client. System included IBM servers, HP switches, Cisco ASA firewall, HP Printers, Lenovo desktops and tablets/notebooks.Active directory environment included about 30 users. Utilized IBM x3650, and x3550 servers.- Implemented a server backup solution at Inforth Technologies as well as Great Lakes Orthopaedic Center, using Symantec System Recovery paired with Backup Exec. The system utilized imaging with the possibility to restore to dissimilar hardware. This gave the flexibility needed for Physical-to-Physical, Virtual-to-Physical, and Physical-to-Virtual migrations in the event of hardware loss. An on-site 4TB HP NAS was used at each site. At Inforth this was attached to a rack-mount tape drive for off-site backups whereas at GLOC an 8 slot tape autoloader was used.- Administered a full server infrastructure assessment for a client and made recommendations for current problem areas as well as future upgrades. Helped restore their antivirus to a working state and updated server firmware. Assisted in restoring their system from a RAID failure on the SQL server. Repaired several desktops, laptops and tablets after hard drive failures.
