With a background in image processing, number crunching and high performance computing, I have gone through the rounds of being a software developer on a wide variety of projects for more than 10 years in the trenches of industry.My journey in software development takes a pinball route through the rigours of processing images for myriad weird and wonderful ends to wicked effect through extensive spec writing (trying to make these often bone-dry docs readable through the strategic injection of attempted humour). This route goes via extensive experience in UI crafting through to being the scrum master on a number of different projects, trying to wrangle teams of between 3 and 9 in size towards the aim of completing a project to spec and on time in an agile manner whilst adhering to the framework of SCRUM.Weapons of choice in the software arena are primarily C++ and C# with the necessary backing of extensive use of the C++ STL and .NET framework. Embellishing these tools of the trade are a smattering of software patterns, mixed liberally with a conditioned focus towards cross-platform development on Windows and Mac with nuances of Linux.The aim of my game is to get stuff done awesomely and on time and have a good time on the journey. Working seamlessly both individually or within a team in a variety of roles, the goal is to bring barnstorming functionality to the lucky user, offering the best user experience imaginable whilst comprehensively delivering the targeted functionality.
