James Doree joined Cygnum Capital (formerly Lion’s Head) in 2011 and has worked with the founders to establish and grow our investment banking and asset management activities. He currently leads Corporate Investment Banking, covering M&A, financing and advisory mandates in energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors across emerging markets. As part of Cygnum’s work in African capital markets, James previously managed the African Local Currency Bond Fund (www.alcbfund.com). Prior to joining Cygnum, James has advised European utilities, governments and regulators on financial and policy issues. He was previously a Senior Consultant at Cambridge Economic Policy Associates and, prior to that, worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Nairobi. He has a Masters in Development Economics and a first class MA in History and Economics from Balliol College, Oxford.
