Harvard Grad, ex-Googler, CTO-level fullstack software engineer, with experience in both tech startups and large Fortune 100s, and ever-expanding roles managing projects, product design, small and large teams, and business. My earlier engineering career focused on C++ and JVM backend development, and data visualization in Python (I was briefly famous as the Data Scientist for OKTrends, the storied blog at okcupid.com), with more recent work in AI and ML, AR and VR, Android and IOS development, Javascript-based frontend and backend development, and large ETL and big-data flows in Kafka and Spark. I've been in and out of the games industry, and was written up in both Buzzfeed and Cosmopolitan for reprogramming the Legend of Zelda to propose to my now-wife. Professionally, I have been called "a pocket knife", having quite a bit of breadth across a number of technologies and application domains. Having added depth as a PM, business owner and operator, and people manager, I'm now properly a professional "tech executive". For the last 5 years I've been running my own onshore Software Development Agency, Prophet Town, which has grown to a staff of about 30 and which has 7 figure top line, and of which I am 100% owner and head honcho. Through Prophet Town, I offer "Startup-as-a-Service" bespoke business and software planning and development services, and general consulting, to various clients, including operating as a Fractional CTO. When I'm not doing all this, I have been moonlighting as a high school coach and tutor teaching kids to code, and I'm also being dad to two awesome kids.
