In 2022 we acquired Compost Connection in Grandview, MO. With most of my work experience over the last 20 years being focused in the service sector, I've been able to gain a lot of insight into what to do to exceed customer's experience. I've also had some great mentors (ie: Brian Schell, CFO of CBOE among them) that had the charismatic leadership style that worked well with my personality. I made sure to learn from those who mentored me, as well as those I didn't see eye-to-eye with. I've also worked continuously to grow my personal network, and to be open in sharing with others the knowledge that I've gained over the years. One of my current passions is business coaching for small startups that continue to occur on a regular basis.One of the largest lessons I've learned was the power of APPRECIATION. So many times I went the extra mile in my line of work. Whether it was pulling long weekend shifts, working through a holiday to get an audit done on time, or traveling out of state for several months to help set up new corporate acquisitions, I always remember when there was a lack of appreciation from my bosses, despite my extra efforts. This made the times when I WAS appreciated stand out to me even more. I hope to never fail my employees in the level of appreciation that I give to them for their hard work.In early 2016, my wife and I decided that we wanted to invest in a company of our own, so we could practice those business and leadership skills that we had learned from our MBAs, as well as our past management experiences. We now own and operate the highest rated luxury limousine company in Kansas City, as well as the largest yard waste removal company in the region.We are extremely busy, but continue to have fun along the way!
